Delete your Family Places account
You can permanently delete your Family Places account and its associated data at any time.
How to delete your account
The fastest and most secure way is directly inside the app:
- Open Family Places and go to Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, then confirm the deletion.
- If Firebase asks you to sign in again first, this is a normal security check — sign in with the same Google account to continue.
Deletion normally completes within moments. You'll see a confirmation once it's done.
What deleting your account does
- Your Family Places account (Firebase account) is deleted.
- Your saved favorites are removed.
- Your Partner account status, if any, is removed.
- Personal information (such as your contact details) is removed from any place claim or submission requests you made.
What is not automatically deleted
A few things are intentionally not deleted along with your account, because they describe a public place, not you personally, or because they're needed for security reasons:
- If you were the verified owner of a place listing, that public listing remains visible in the catalog — it simply becomes unclaimed, no longer linked to you.
- Business photos you added to a listing remain part of that listing.
- Some billing/security records may be kept in anonymized form (no longer linked to you) where needed to prevent fraud, verify past transactions, or process refunds or subscription changes.
Subscriptions are not cancelled automatically
Deleting your Family Places account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store subscription. If you have an active Partner subscription, you must cancel it separately through the App Store — deleting your account alone will not stop billing.
I no longer have access to the app or device
If you can, the easiest option is to reinstall Family Places and sign in again with the same Google account — this restores your existing account, and you can delete it using the steps above.
If that's not possible, email support@familyplaces.ch and let us know you'd like your account deleted. This starts a support request, not an automatic deletion — we may need to verify it's really your account before we can act on it, and deletion by this route isn't instant.

So löschst du dein Konto
Was beim Löschen deines Kontos passiert
